 DIRECTOR OF EQUITY AND INCLUSION 
 Asheville, NC 
 The City of Asheville, North Carolina is conducting a search to fill the position of Director of Equity and Inclusion. This strategic and resourceful director will further advance the dynamic work that the Office of Equity and Inclusion is engaged in, and that advances the charge of transforming the way that the Asheville city government delivers services towards achieving equitable opportunities for all Asheville residents. The Director will be an integral part of a management team committed to providing excellent services to the entire Asheville community. The Office of Equity and Inclusion works to foster a fair and inclusive culture across city government by providing training and consultation, and by promoting equitable policies, practices and procedures. The Director will oversee a staff of three and a budget of $456,499. In addition, the Director will provide guidance to the equity core teams. For more detailed information regarding this opportunity, see the&#xa0; position profile . &#xa0; The following qualifications are guidelines, as the City has broad discretion in filling positions in this classification: At least five years of demonstrated success in the administration of community, government, educational or social justice programs, at least three of which were in a managerial, supervisory or program administration capacity. An understanding of equity issues unique to Asheville and Western North Carolina is desirable. Experience working in a public agency or nonprofit is preferred. A Bachelor&#39;s degree in sociology, education, public administration, ethnic studies, communication or related field from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree is preferred. Professional work experience may be substituted. 								<description>Stallings, North Carolina,  The Town of Stallings, NC is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, knowledgeable Town Engineer   experienced with growth and development, transportation and roadway projects, stormwater management and infrastructure. The role of the Town Engineer oversees the development and maintenance of public infrastructure which includes Town streets, sidewalks, and stormwater systems. Engineering is additionally responsible for managing all capital improvement construction projects that are funded by the Town. The next Town Engineer will be effective in leading the Department in an engaged fashion both internally and externally while supporting the needs of a growing community. The Town Engineer oversees the departments of Engineering and Public Works and must work effectively across departments, community stakeholders, citizens, developers, consultants as well as local, state and federal agencies to ensure that the goals of the Town are met. The Town Engineer is the point of contact with State and local partners, including NCDOT, Union County Public Works, Building Code and Water Resources as well as representing the Town on the TCC board for the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO). The Engineering Department oversees the growth and development of the Town&#8217;s remaining utility systems, including streets and stormwater. &#xa0;The Town Engineer manages the Associate Town Engineer and Public Works Director and oversees a budget of more than $1.5 million as well as managing various capital projects from other departments with diverse budgets ranging from less than $20,000 to approximately $8 million.&#xa0; 
 Qualifications : &#xa0; Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or related field and extensive experience in civil engineering work including at least 3 years of supervisory experience working with 2 or more direct reports. Experience working for a local government is preferred but otherwise extensive experience working with local governments is required. &#xa0;A PE is required.  Salary range and Application Process:&#xa0;  The full salary range is $78,929 to $116,514 with an anticipated hiring range of $85,000- $97,000 (actual beginning salary will be commensurate with qualifications).  Assists in operating, monitoring, and maintaining SCADA computers and systems; ensuring proper operation of equipment; maintaining records. 
 Assists with ensuring proper electric SCADA system functionality and accuracy of data collected including installation, calibrations, programming, creating visual data screens, etc.  
 Assists with diagnoses and repairs of electric and equipment. 
 Performs installations, electrical inspections, and computer interface verifications for SCADA controls and indications. 
 Assists in collecting, processing, analyzing, and compiling metering data into monthly billing reports for industrial and commercial energy customers. 
 Calibrates, troubleshoots, and repairs electric measurement equipment; maintains relay settings database. 
 Maintains all remote terminal units and communications, servers, and databases for SCADA system; maintains records for instrument calibrations and service. 
 Assists with the design, implementation, and testing of assigned projects for the electric division such as remote regulator controllers, UPS systems, Transformer temperature lockout relays, RTU updates, etc. 
 Assists in the maintenance and service of electronics-based operator equipment; packages and ships equipment for factory service when required; Orders parts for repairs. 
 Worker will be subject to call back at any time and could work extended time exceeding a normal shift with or without notice. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major course work in electronic technology or related field and one year&#8217;s experience in maintenance work involving electronic and electrical repair and installation. 
 This position is subject to call-back and could require extended work hours beyond the normal work day during adverse weather situations or other electrical emergencies. Must be able to respond to emergency calls within one hour for call-back purposes.</description>
