 The City Manager is a professional position that serves at the direction of the City Council and is the chief executive and administrative officer of the City.&#xa0; This position provides strategic vision, operational, and administrative direction based off policies established by the City Council. The City Manager is an effective policy executive who acquires and utilizes local and regional resources to resolve community problems and capitalize on community opportunities. The City Manager leads the Executive Leadership team providing clear expectations, direction, support, and accountability.

								<description>Clive, Iowa,  This position is responsible for the financial operations of the City.&#xa0; The ideal candidate will be able to maintain and enhance the critical financial stewardship of the City&#8217;s resources to help achieve the Clive City Council&#8217;s strategic plan and vision for the community. This position directs the development and execution of all financial operations for the City of Clive, including the debt issuance for one of three cities in Iowa to have a AAA bond rating from Moody&#8217;s Investor Services.&#xa0; Serves as the City&#8217;s Treasurer, overseeing cash investment, risk management and annual financial auditing process.&#xa0; Depending upon the candidate selected, the position&#8217;s primary focus will be to direct and supervise the City&#8217;s finance staff and could include oversight of other areas, such as the City Clerk and Human Resources.&#xa0; The Director of Finance/Administrative Services reports to and will be appointed by the City Manager, and serve as a member of the City&#8217;s Executive Team. To be considered, candidates must have the minimum of a bachelor&#8217;s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or similar field.&#xa0; A candidate who is already a Certified Municipal Finance Officer is preferred.&#xa0; At least five years of increasingly responsible experience in managing the finances of a municipal government, or equivalent management or senior staff experience in a similar setting (public or private).&#xa0; At least two years of supervisory experience, and experience in overseeing City Clerk and Human Resources services preferred.&#xa0;</description>
