The fundamental reason for this classification is to assist the Finance Director with planning, coordinating, and directing activities within all divisions of the Finance Department, and the Grants, Procurement, Information Systems and Risk Management Departments.  The Deputy Finance Director serves as a resource to employees in all areas of operations within the departments and serves as the final authority for the Finance Department in the absence of the Finance Director.  Primary work responsibilities include assisting the Finance Director in: daily operations; overseeing special projects; managing financial activities related to City’s bond and debt service, capital projects, and grants; and performing additional financial planning duties and various other administrative duties.
