As the Chief Equity Officer, you will serve as ICMA's key strategist, proactively advising the CEO/ED, ICMA Board, members, and partners on diversity and social justice matters. Your leadership will be instrumental in infusing inclusive concepts globally through trainings and professional development initiatives.
ICMA seeks a seasoned Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging professional with proven visionary leadership. If you are people-centric, possess adaptive management skills, and can leverage data for outcome-driven solutions, we want to hear from you. Investigating, interpreting, and analyzing data with a deep understanding of cultural values, especially in communities of color, LGBTQ+, and recovery communities, are essential. Political astuteness, combined with apolitical integrity, sophistication, and emotional intelligence are crucial competencies for success in working with diverse.
The required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social justice, human relations, human resources or a related discipline and eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible experience in disciplines overlapping with transformative DEI initiatives, including at least four (4) years in senior management. A Master’s degree is desired as well as relevant experience in an international/and or globally focused organization. Multilingual fluency is a plus.
