ASSISTANT GENERAL TOWN MANAGER 37.5 hours per week $120,000 - $140,000 Applications will be accepted until the position is filled
SUMMARY/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Town of Manchester is seeking an Assistant General (Town) Manager to join its Executive Leadership Team to work with the General Manager, Board of Directors, Department Heads, municipal employees, community partners and residents in further growing and developing a thriving, inclusive and sustainable community. This position has a wide array of responsibilities and assists in all aspects of municipal operations. This includes coordinating the town’s activities and monitoring the performance of all Town departments, conducting independent research, and preparing reports pursuant to that research, and managing and coordinating projects to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Board of Directors under the direction of the General Manager. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, or related field from an accredited college or university. At least five years’ experience in managing and leading a complex organization. Experience in government or an organization closely related to government is highly valued. Suitable experience may be substituted for educational attainment if deemed appropriate by the General Manager.
